On Saturday, Sept. 22nd the police and fire departments held open houses at their Main Street facilities. They opened their doors to the community so that people can catch a first hand glimpse of the antiquated and obsolete facilities Ashland’s public safety personnel work in.
Tours were conducted throughout the day to highlight some of the deficiencies and limitations of both buildings. Approximately 60 people toured through the buildings and were shown why a new facility is needed.
The most frequent comment heard on the tours was “I didn’t realize how small the building was, it looks much bigger from the outside”.
